Greg Cater, Community Pastor

Greg was born and raised in LaGrange, Georgia and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. His successful athletic abilities as a punter earned him numerous athletic honors including being named to the LaGrange, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, the UT-Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame and the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame as well as provided him with an opportunity to play in the National Football League. In 1980, Greg was drafted in the tenth round by the Buffalo Bills. After seven years in the NFL, Greg began work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He served as area director for the eleven counties surrounding Chattanooga until 1993. Since then, Greg has served in numerous church ministry positions including minister of recreation, minister to students, and most recently the pastor of Grace Pointe Church of Rome. In addition to his position at Life Church, he presently serves as both Chaplain for Jennings Funeral Home and Adjunct Chaplain for Floyd Medical Center. Greg is married to Robin, a nurse at Floyd Medical Center. They have two beautiful daughters, Carley and Jo Bethany.
